Shameless Nanner Nanner Post to Kaleb

I wouldn't be one of Kaleb's favorite sisters if I didn't give him crap about the WAC tournament over the weekend. So here it goes, nanner, nanner, nanner. In case you are wondering I am a Boise State alumna and Kaleb is a Utah State alumni (I think that's the correct wordage). BSU ended up winning the WAC tournament by beating Hawaii, Utah State and New Mexico State. They are going to the NCAA tournament on Friday and playing Louisville. Love you Kaleb. Go orange, go big blue, fight, fight, BSU.

Also, to my friend Amanda, I'm thinking of you. Take care. Love you.

What a weekend

016 I spent the weekend traveling to Utah with Kennedy, my friend Tresa, and her two kids, Megan and Derrick. We left Thursday morning and spent a couple of nights in Kaysville with some friends before heading to Park City for her other daughter Chelsea's volleyball tournament. We spent Friday going to a pioneer museum, the Hogle Zoo, on a Conference Center tour and going to the Gateway Mall. Aunt Mel, it was good to talk to you, sorry that we didn't get to stop by, it was late by the time we got back to Kaysville Friday night.

Happy Birthday Pete and Kathy

My father-in-law Pete had a birthday on Friday and my sister-in-law Kathy had one on Saturday. I kind of feel bad for Pete, he spent the night with Chris looking for Ryan's scout group's campsite about 2 hours away because Ryan forgot his coat and his mother (that would be me) was out of town. So Happy Birthday Pete and Kathy, maybe next year will be better.IMG_5753 Picture 775

International Dinner

So, last Tuesday Ryan's middle school had an International Dinner Festival. He had signed up to do the blow up Sumo Wrestling that

they had. It was pretty hilarious. They put them in these huge suits and then blow them up. Their arms stick straight out and when they fall they can't get up, they just lay on the mat with their arms and legs straight out. Ryan and the guy that he went against ran at each other and then bounced off and Ryan went down on his stomach. It was pretty funny. Here's a picture of him getting into his suit.

Happy Birthday Dyllan!!!

My nephew Dyllan is turning 15 today. Man, do I feel old. I remember changing his diapers and him peeing on the kitchen floor in my apartment here in Boise because he was running around naked. He's a great kid and I can't believe that his parents actually allowed him to take drivers ed. I'm a little scared. Dyllan, I love you tons, have a great birthday. It was great seeing you last week.

Kennedy's School Program

Kennedy had her last elementary school program last night. It's hard to believe that she's in fifth grade, although if she had her way she would already have started middle school.

IMG_6168 During the last song she got to play this musical instrument that she called an Orph (I have no idea what that is).

Greg and Kathy

Chris only has one sibling, his brother Greg. He is married to Kathy, and they have a daughter Sydney. Well, they have two daughters now, little Ava Piper (who we will be calling Piper) was born in February. I really hadn't started blogging yet, but here are some pictures of Piper and Sydney as well as the rest of the family. My in-laws, Pete and Polly, are there this weekend, and Pete is a picture taker, just like Chris, so we should have a bunch of new pictures next week. She's a cutie, so is her sister.

As I type this I just have to admit that Carter is standing by me, home sick from school after our wild weekend, playing Guitar Hero on the Wii, doing really well playing Mississippi Queen. Again, don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed.

Busy Family Weekend

We have had a pretty busy weekend. A lot of my family came down to watch some basketball games at the boys state tournament and to hang out. When they come to visit we always have a fun time, crazy, but fun. It's a full house, but everyone seems to get along pretty well most of the time.

So, who all came? My parents, Mike and Marcia Kunz. My sister Jenny and her husband Tim. Their three boys, Dyllan, who is turning 15 this week; Josh, who just turned 11 in December; and Brandon, who is 5. They stayed with us. My brother Kaleb and his wife Jennie (we call her Jen, which helps with the confusion) stayed with her mom at some relatives home. Kaleb and Jen are having a baby girl in June, so everyone is excited.

My dad took Ryan and Dyllan to a lot of the basketball games, Kennedy and Josh went to a few as well. Chris and Tim made it to a few as well. I hung out with my mom, Jenny, Brandon and Carter quite a bit. We always hit a lot of good restaurants while they are here and they like to go to the mall (I always volunteer to babysit during this outing).

We stayed up late every night that they were here. It was good to catch up with everyone and the kids have a great time playing the Wii, DS's, and running around the house causing chaos. We even got an impromptu fashion show from Josh and Kennedy with some great nerd wear (I don't think that we got any pictures, but I'll have to check).

I am not sure if I am proud or embarrassed by the fact that Carter, my 5-year-old was able to show everyone that he could play through 4 or 5 songs on Guitar Hero on the Wii without getting kicked off for making too many mistakes. Maybe I've got a budding musician, or maybe I use the Wii as a babysitter during the afternoon a little too often.
